The best thing you can do is be prepared when selling your home; it happens in stages and dependant on the market it can take some time. Each homeowner is selling  their home for a reason; some clients are upgrading, some are downgrading or simply starting fresh. But what most of our clients do not expect is the emotion that can come with selling a home especially in a balanced market! 

Check out our three simple steps below that can help you when you start to think about parting ways with your home!

1)  The most important in my opinion is hiring a Sales Professional with whom you trust, it can really help ease the process. Don’t be afraid to ask your sales professional questions upfront and take note of their answers. The idea is to hire someone with knowledge, professionalism and someone who has your best interest at heart! Watch for the red flags if someone starts to over promise by presenting unrealistic timelines, pricing and has no market knowledge, it may be a good time to walk away.

2) MAKE SPACE and that sometimes means we need to do a personal inventory of all the stuff that we do not need anymore and that can overwhelm clients at times but it does not have to be that way! Keep it simple for instance, I had a friend that let me know she was doing a 40 bag in 40 days Decluttering Challenge and it was a super cool idea, thanks Rachel check her blog! 3) Be prepared for some emotions especially in a balanced market because the name says it all; it is essentially a balancing act. An offer can come in and just as easy not go through not only due to the usual suspects such as inspections and financing but add in low buyer's confidence in the market and things can go sideways quickly. It can be such a let down but the best thing you can do is be prepared for this ahead of time, it will help keep those emotions balanced during the selling process and that will be a game changer for you!
